October 2, 2006

I met my husband Larry, a 1984 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School when I was out celebrating my 29th b-day. We actually re-met. The first time we met was at my church at a youth group rally back in highschool that his friend brought him to. So, Larry likes to tell people we met in church, not a bar. In any case, I had been working at PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) as a meeting and event planner. The job was great for a single person with lots of travelling and great parties. I decided to hang-up my party planning hat and try something a little more local. That's when I fell into a personal chef postition which then led to a Personal Chef/Housemanager position for a woman who is the (now) Preisident of BET. The exciting thing about that was she too had some amazing parties at her house that I helped to plan. She lives in Jack Kent Cooke's former home. While working with her, I had my first child, Ava Layne who is now 4. Then two years later I got pregnant with twins and worked up until I was almost 5 months pregnant and then decided that my job was to stay at home with my kids. I had twin girls in December of 2002 and their names are Ally Elizabeth and Georgia Paige. My husband calls himself the girl machine! They are great and certainly my life. I sometimes wish I was back in a career but know that for now this is the best place for me to be. We are building a new house in the Waynewood area and that is taking quite a bit of my time at the moment. My girls attend Aldersgate UMC Day School and love it.

It is definitely hard to belive that 20 years have passed. I have such vivid memories of those high school years and am glad to have formed so many great friendships. Can't wait to see you all next week!
