Site Down for Server Maintenance...

The West Potomac Class of 86 website may be down for several days as I switch servers and reorganize some things here. I have a long list of updates which have been stacking up and I need to get to. So if some pages do not come up as they should, give it a couple days and then check back and hopefully I will be done.

Jeff Dietze is retiring after 37.5 years of service

Jeff Dietze is retiring February 1st after 37.5 years of service in FCPS: 5 years at Groveton, 10 years at Fort Hunt and 22.5 at West Potomac.

WPHS would like as many students, faculty, parents, former booster members, alumni & community members to come bid farewell to Jeff!

On Tuesday, 29 January, WPHS is holding an Open House at West Potomac from 3 to 5pm in the cafeteria for students, alumni, faculty, community, colleagues & friends to say farewell to Jeff. There will be a brief program at 3:30pm where we will try to recognize his many achievements.

WPHS would love to have you attend. Please mark your calendar and pass this along to others. WPHS hopes to make this a memorable afternoon for Jeff & his family.

Wrap up and Wedding news

Hello All, I am sorry for the lack of updates the past 7 months! After the reunion, I had a few little things to take care of... Yes, my wedding is tomorrow and you can finally see the engagement portraits at http://www.NonaandRay.com. Next week I will be somewhere south of Cancun!

After recovering, I hope to wrap up some unfinished reunion work! Your help with the following would be greatly appreciated:

• Photos. I have collected copies of some photos from the reunion, but I still do not have copies from everyone! If you have any photos from the reunion you would like to share, please send them to me so I can include them on a class DVD!
• Alumni News? It has been 7 months! Does anyone else have any exciting news to share? Weddings, babies, great new jobs, etc (2 of the 3 for me)? If so, please send in an announcement so we can include it in the June or July class update!
• T-Shirts. We still have t-shirts for sale! Please contact ray@bowers.com if you are interested in helping us clean out the final batch... L and XL are $16 each. XXL is $18.
• Future Reunions? I still can't think about this for now, but I wouldn't mind doing a picnic sometime this summer with some of the other classes. Maybe see who is around here from 84-86? Ask for donations to cover the site fee? Nothing requiring serious work (from me)... Any interest?

Reunion Wrap Up

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this such a successful event! Here are some final things to note:

• Thanks To... Putting together a reunion is no small job... It takes a group of people willing to put in long hard hours a year in advance for one brief weekend of fun. Please take a minute to let these people know how much you appreciate their work.
• Photos. Check out the updated Photos page for links to photos from the reunion! If you would love to share your photos, please contact ray@bowers.com or send them to me on CD.
• T-Shirts. We still have t-shirts for sale! Please contact ray@bowers.com if you are interested in helping us clean out the final batch... L and XL are $16 each. XXL is $18.
• Alumni Directory. Yes, we will still be working to produce this. Look for the survey form on it later this month (after I get some wedding plans started as promised).
• Web site. Yes, the web site is going to stay up. I plan to give it a major overhaul later but it will stay here to help keep our class reconnected and to make future events easier.
• KEF. For more information on the Kenya Education Fund, please see Heather Burke's bio.
• Alumni Bios. Didn't catch up with everyone at the reunion? Then take a minute to write a bio and share your news here. Submit bios and updated photos to ray@bowers.com.
• Future Reunions? I can't even think about that one right now...
